Gyrotonic© is a unique system of body-mind conditioning created by

Juliu Horvath. It incorporates movement principles from yoga, tai chi, dance and swimming.  It simultaneously stretches and strengthens the body, while increasing range of motion and developing coordination.

Its circular and spherical movements are synchronized with the breath and maximize the movement of the spine, bringing relief from chronic stiffness and nervous tension often stored in the muscles, tissues and organs.

The work stimulates the cardiovascular system, awakens the nervous system and restores neuromuscular coordination. Regular practice generates a sense of well being, vitality and ease, which are an organic response to the integration of the body, mind and spirit.


Pilates

Pilates is a body-mind conditioning system developed by Joseph H. Pilates over 75 years ago.  The primary focus to develop awareness and strength in the core abdominal muscles, lower back and hips. Establishing this core as the power center of the body increases both flexibility and range of motion and develops stability.  The practice involves work on various spring-based apparatus, which provide both resistance and assistance, cultivating strength and control without overdeveloping

the muscles.  The linear movement patterns develop lightness, fluidity and agility in the body and cultivate a sense of physical and mental clarity, creating an effortless quality of movement.
