PLANTING SEEDS: CREATING YOUR SPRING PANTRY- A SERIES EXPLORING RAW, AYURVEDIC AND TRADITIONAL PERSPECTIVES


In these workshops you will be introduced to a diverse range of natural ingredients highlighting local seasonal vegetables, grains, fruits and sea vegetables and learn how to incorporate herbs, spices and super foods into your food to enhance immunity and over all well being.  You will become familiar with the effects certain foods and spices have on your body/mind and the use of a variety of cooking and “un-cooking”  styles to achieve balance during each season. During each workshop we will prepare and enjoy a delicious and nourishing, three course, organic meal. Recipes are provided.


PURE NOURISHMENT- Raw Food Explorations

In this class we will learn how to incorporate live/raw food meals into your daily diet using seasonal produce combined with seasonally appropriate herbs & spices.  We will also introduce you to several super foods to enliven your Spring Pantry

Balancing Fire and Water in Pitta Season

According to the ancient art and science of Ayurveda, summer is the season when Pitta, the dosha that embodies the elements of fire and water, predominates.  In accordance with Ayurvedic lifestyle practices it is highly beneficial to incorporate more raw foods into your diet during this time of year, making it a natural time to explore the raw foods lifestyle. While we prepare a delicious array of raw food dishes we will discuss governing principles and guidelines for balance during this season and learn about the myriad benefits of including raw foods into your diet, including the power of enzymes, how to include super foods in your daily life and about seasonally appropriate foods, herbs and spices.  Please join us for this exciting and informative class and learn new ways to cultivate balance between the elements of Fire and Water in your daily life.



During this hand’s on cooking class we will explore the basics of the six tastes, their health benefits and ways to begin including them in your diet.  We will prepare a delicious seasonal lunch and you will receive simple recipes to help incorporate them into your daily life.

SUNDAY NIGHT DINNER SERIES

Join us for a three course meal featuring locally grown produce*, seasonally appropriate cooking techniques, organically produced wines, community and conversation. 


Over the course of our dinner series we will explore:

-What is the difference between organic and locally grown produce and why is it important?

-The impact of pesticides on our food supply and the legacy of our soil

-The value of adjusting cooking techniques with the seasons
